Meet The Team
The team at Health Screening NZ, supported by licensed CardiAction technology, includes experts in healthcare, pharmacy, and medical technology.
Our team’s mission is to make preventative care accessible by managing and performing screenings that identify cardiovascular disease risk. CardiAction technology helps clients monitor their progress, but it’s our dedicated team that ensures each client receives comprehensive, high-quality service.
Carolyn, Founder and Managing Director of Health Screening NZ, has dedicated her career to community healthcare. With over 40 years as a pharmacist in Christchurch, Carolyn has owned multiple pharmacies via the Oakley-Brown Pharmacy Group. Inspired by the loss of her father to a heart attack, Carolyn founded Health Screening NZ as a legacy to his memory, driven by a mission to save lives through preventative care.
Carolyn has played a pivotal role in building strategic partnerships with healthcare practitioners and the CDHB funding provider, helping to make CardiAction screenings accessible as a community pharmacy service. Recently recognised as a Fellow of the Pharmaceutical Society of NZ, Carolyn’s exceptional contributions to pharmacy practice have made a lasting impact across New Zealand.
Lillie, the Business Manager at Health Screening NZ, has been instrumental in developing CardiAction into a nationwide screening service since 2020. With a background in law and travel, she quickly embraced the skills needed to bring CardiAction’s vision to life, overseeing licensing, technical and medical operations, product management, and the training of screeners—along with handling any new challenges that arise.
Passionate about healthcare, Lillie thrives on collaborating with top experts and making their insights accessible to the public. Originally from Cornwall, UK, she’s called Auckland home since 2017 and enjoys sports, socialising, and travelling whenever she can.
Dr John Cook, a co-founder of CardiAction and advisor to Health Screening NZ, brings over 40 years of experience as a GP in Christchurch. Known for his commitment to patient health and community wellbeing, Dr Cook has pioneered personalised healthcare approaches in New Zealand, introducing innovations like genetic profiling and nutrigenomics to general practice.
The launch of CardiAction reflects Dr Cook’s career-long dedication to advancing healthcare through technology. A strong advocate for personalised health and lifestyle guidance, he has successfully applied Pulse Wave Analysis (PWA) testing and genetic insights in his own practice. Dr Cook believes that CardiAction offers a powerful tool for New Zealanders to take charge of their heart health.
